Dallas Snipers 7, Southern Oregon Spartans 2

The Dallas Snipers put up 51 shots in the very first game of the Showcase on their way to a comfortable win. Albin Klockare sufficed with 12 saves.

Arthur Aloyan led all skaters with four points including two goals and two assists, but the Snipers also got a hand from Michael Fatta who registered two goals and three points. A total of five players for Dallas had multiple points.

Aloyan scored a pair of goals in the first period to give Dallas a 2-0 lead. The Spartans were able to provide an initial response when Jeremy Vant Geloof put them on the board at 5:32 of the first half.

The second half belonged to Dallas who moved to a four-goal lead and made it 6-1 before the Spartans netted their second tally of the afternoon at 9:09 of the second.

Fatta added the final insurance goal for the Snipers.

DALLAS SNIPERS 3(SO), ONTARIO AVALANCHE 2

A hard fought game with our neighbors up North saw the Snipers drop their only points of the Showcase with a Shootout victory.

Brady Weiss earned the start managed to handle 30 of the 32 shots he saw the entire game for an 93% save percentage. His counterpart, Ontario's Jonathan Kornreder, picked up 29 saves in the OTL.

Ontario's Jack Davenport opened the scoring early in the first, but a tip-in goal from Gasper Konc brought the game level through the first half. Dallas' captain, Arvidas Domeika, scored a powerplay goal to give the Snipers the lead midway through the 2nd, but Ontario's Bryan Fetz found the back of the net with just 1:46 left to force overtime.

After no goals in the 3-on-3, the teams went to a shootout to determine a winner. A quick three-round shootout saw Weiss come away with all three saves while Kornreder struggled to stop anything from Gasper Konc, Brad Richardson, and Arthur Aloyan, giving the Snipers two more points and the SO victory.

LAS VEGAS THUNDERBIRDS 1, DALLAS SNIPERS 4

Four minutes into the bout, the Sniper’s Bradley Richardson scored his first of two goals giving the Snipers an initial lead. Alexander Aleshkin made 21 saves and the Dallas Snipers earn a sweep of their competition for the second year in a row.

Christoffer Juvas scored the lone goal for the Thunderbirds at 16:51 of the first half in a response to Richardson’s first. As both clubs traded blows, Richardson found his second of the morning at 10:22.

Dallas elected for two more goals including one from Michael Fatta at 5:17 and another from Todd Thompson with 14 seconds in the game.

Of note, Aleshkin earns his 12th win making him the fourth overall in wins just behind Sawyer Schmidt of El Paso.
