Dallas Snipers @ Tulsa Jr. Oilers

The Dallas Snipers went to Tulsa and took two of three games from the Jr. Oilers, putting them just a point out of first place in the Mid-West Division.

Patrik Tondl scored the game-winning goal with 8:14 left in the third period as the Snipers won, 6-4, on Friday.  Michael Tugo and Alexander Yunanov each scored a pair of goals for Dallas and Alexander Moustakis stopped 34 of 38 shots.

Tulsa built a 3-0 lead on Saturday night and Tyler Jansen (33 saves) made it hold up in a 4-2 Jr. Oilers win.  Augusts Veidenbaums scored two goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist.

The Snipers scored three goals in a span of 2:30 in the first period on their way to a 6-2 win in Sunday’s rubber game.

Hampus Ahlebrand scored twice in the first period for Dallas and completed his hat trick in the third.  Dusan Olsa added a pair of goals and Moustakis stopped 39 of 41 shots for the Snipers.

Maxim Chegrintsev scored both Tulsa goals.

El Paso Rhinos @ Valencia Flyers

10.22.15 – Valencia 5, El Paso 3

10.24.15 – El Paso 2, Valencia 1

The Valencia Flyers came back from deficits of 2-0 and 3-2 to defeat the El Paso Rhinos Thursday in what was the season opener for El Paso.

With the score tied, 3-3, in the third period, Valencia scored two goals 1:23 apart for a 5-3 win.  Dawson Keay scored the game-winner and Jared Walman added the insurance marker.

Joakim Hofstad had a pair of goals and an assist for the Flyers.

The Rhinos came back with a 2-1 win on Saturday.  Marcus Andrews scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period and Ryan Buttazoni turned aside 34 of 35 shots – including all 14 he faced in the third period – to seal the victory.

Ceslik scored the other El Paso goal while Evan Johnson scored for Valencia and Linus Ryttar made 28 saves for the Flyers.

El Paso Rhinos @ Long Beach Bombers

10.23.15 – El Paso 6, Long Beach 5 (OT)

On Saturday, the Long Beach Bombers rallied from a 4-2 deficit to take a 5-4 lead on three quick goals by Jesper Wallenholm, but the visiting El Paso Rhinos came back to win the game, 6-5, in overtime.

Wallenholm’s goals came in a span of just 2:26, but the Rhinos kept their heads.  Petr Ceslik’s second goal of the game came just 25 seconds after Walenholm’s third had given Long Beach the lead.

Daniil Fursa scored his second of the game for El Paso 1:16 into overtime to give the Rhinos their first win of the season.  Joseph Roach also scored twice for the Rhinos.

Tomas Urbanec had a pair of goals and Amir Burguev collected three assists for the Bombers.

Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers @ Salt Lake City Moose

10.23.15 – Oklahoma City 1, Salt Lake City 0

10.24.15 – Oklahoma City 4, Salt Lake City 1

10.25.15 – Oklahoma City 6, Salt Lake City 2

The Oklahoma City Jr. Blazers traveled to Utah and game back with six points, ascending to the top of the Mid-West Division, following a three-game sweep of the Salt Lake City Moose.

Filip Kostka of Oklahoma City got the best of Sean Leahy of Salt Lake City, as the Jr. Blazers beat the Moose, 1-0, in Friday’s series opener.

Kostka stopped all 27 shots he faced – nine in each period – and Leahy turned aside 30 of 31.

Adam Skutchan scored the only goal of the game at 9:57 of the second period.

The Moose scored first on Saturday, but the Jr. Blazers came back to score the next four goals in a 4-1 win.  Tomas Rubes scored two goals, including the game-winner, for OKC and Kostka stopped 17 of 18 shots.

The Jr. Blazers took care of business, scoring twice in each period and completing the sweep with a 6-2 win Sunday afternoon.  Kirill Romanov scored twice and Kostka turned aside 22 of 24 shots.

Wichita Jr. Thunder @ Cheyenne Stampede

10.23.15 – Wichita 5, Cheyenne 2

10.24.15 – Cheyenne 8, Wichita 6

10.25.15 – Wichita 7, Cheyenne 2

The Wichita Jr. Thunder went into Cheyenne and took two of three games from the Stampede in an inter-division series.

The Jr. Thunder scored four times in the opening period and held on for a 5-2 road win Friday.  Jet Bell scored twice in the first 6:14 of the game and completed his hat trick with 39 seconds left in the third period.

The Stampede carried the play, out-shooting Wichita in every period, but Jr. Thunder goaltender Erik Spath made 44 saves.  Jack McClelland assisted on three goals.

Cheyenne built leads of 4-1 and 6-2 and withstood a late push by Wichita for an 8-6 win on Saturday.  Lukas Slansky scored a hat trick and picked up an assist for the Stampede and Ryan Evans added a pair of goals.

Bell and Peter Cicmanec each scored twice for Wichita.

Wichita recovered and won Sunday’s contest, 7-2, behind a hat trick from Jack McClelland and two goals apiece from Bell and Matt McClelland.

Spath was dominant again, making 46 saves on 48 shots.

Springfield had the weekend off.
