Weekend Wrap Up Against Thunder

            With two wins in Dallas, the Wichita Jr. Thunder tied the Springfield Express for second place in the Mid-West Division and the first-round bye that goes with it.

Erik Spath made 47 saves – including 34 on 35 shots over the last two periods – and Peter Cicmanec figured in four goals in a 6-2 Wichita win on Friday.

Cicmanec had two goals and two assists and Jack McClelland assisted on three goals for the Jr. Thunder.

Cicmanec scored five points Saturday with a hat trick and a pair of assists.  Jack McClelland (2-1-3) scored twice for the Jr. Thunder, Oskar Gullstrom had four assists and Andrew Nash made 31 saves to pick up the win.

Matej Pavlovsky scored one Dallas goal and assisted on the other.

The Snipers salvaged a couple points from the series with a 5-4 win on Sunday.  Dallas came back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to take their first lead of the game on goals from Pavlovsky and Zach Black.  Michael Tugo also scored a pair and Alexander Moustakis made 28 saves for the Snipers.

The Jr. Thunder wasted a David Good hat trick and 39 saves from Spath.
