It couldn’t have been more evenly matched between the two teams as their last series in late September required overtime to determine the winner each night. Pueblo’s Milan Breczko and Nic Pedersen scored in the shootout to skate off with the win.

Dixson Root and Wyatt Andres scored for the Bulls and four other players for Pueblo had an assist in regulation. Alexsey Syrotenko (1G-1A) and Dmitri Khalin (1G) scored the two goals for Dallas who was forced to tie it at the end.

Khalin’s goal at 5:42 of the third tied the game 2-2 after the Snipers scored twice in the second period.

As it has been the trend all season with Dallas, they avoid the sweep by stealing one game. The Snipers tended to struggle in two out of three games in any prior series so far, but always posted a convincing win.

The Snipers were suppressed in the first and third periods but got the job done in the second period with four goals to snag the three points.

Four different scorers capitalized for the Snipers including Leo Selitaj, Alexsey Syrotenko, Karsten Portell, and Jesper Lundqvist. Ryan Wirth had the single Bulls goals.

Portell and Wirth kicked off the scoring at 18:37 and 9:13 as the Bulls were fast on the game tying goal. Dallas regained the lead moments later but the game remained ever so tight until Dallas opened it up with two late-game goals to ice it.

The overtime theme persisted as the Bull’s Henry Denee stopped 48 of 51 shots, and backstopped his team to a win in the shootout.

Of note, this marks the fifth overtime and fourth shootout game in six meetings between the two.

Milan Breczko (1G-2A), Wyatt Andres (2G), and Brock McQuistan (2A) had multi point efforts while Dane Whittet registered a helper for the Bulls. Dallas’ Leo Selitaj (1G-1A), Bradley Richardson (1G), and Ilnur Madiarov (1G) scored the three goals for the Snipers who worked to tie the game.

Pueblo took ownership of the opening frame as Andres scored twice at 15:05 and 13:34. Dallas had to work for the extra point at least, and started the comeback at 4:16 of the second. There was no additional scoring in the second but the Snipers kept poking at their objective and eventually tied it 2-2 at 12:31 of the third stanza.

The Bulls thought taking the 3-2 lead at 2:52 of the third was going to be enough for the win but the Snipers were aiming for overtime. They leveled it at 2:29 to send it to overtime where neither team could solve the opponent’s net minder.
