12.08.16 – Tulsa 5, Dallas 3

12.09.16 – Tulsa 5, Dallas 4 (OT)

12.10.16 – Tulsa 4, Dallas 2

The Tulsa Jr. Oilers put some distance between themselves and the last-place team in the Mid-Western Division, the Dallas Snipers, with a three-game sweep.  Dallas did pick up a point by getting one game to overtime, but now trail the Jr. Oilers by 13 points.

Tulsa built a 5-0 lead after 40 minutes in Thursday’s series opener, then took their foot off the gas, allowing the Snipers to score three times in the third period.  The Jr. Oilers still took the win, 5-3, but Dallas had some momentum they could use for the rest of the series.

Niko Walsh scored twice for Tulsa and Henrik Kasperson made 29 saves.

Matt Stewart (44 saves) took the loss for Dallas, but finished strong, stopping all 15 shots he faced in the third period.

Friday night’s game at the BOK Center was a back-and-forth affair that saw the Snipers unable to hold leads of 2-0 and 4-3.

Tulsa’s Bogdan Shleev scored his second goal of the game with 3:27 left in regulation to send the game to overtime, then completed the hat trick just 42 seconds into OT to give the Jr. Oilers another win.

Augusts Veidenbaums assisted on four of the five Tulsa goals and goaltender Kyle Levault won for the second time in two decisions this season.

Peter Kutlak scored twice for the Snipers, including a go-ahead goal with 6:06 left in the third period, and Alexander Moustakis made 32 saves for Dallas.

Sterling Cooper scored to give Dallas a 1-0 lead just 1:16 into Saturday’s game, but Tulsa came back to lead, 2-1, at the end of the second period.

Dallas tied it back up with 8:03 left in the third on Tyler Estermeyer’s tally, but the Jr. Oilers got the lead back on another goal by Shleev.  It ended up being the game-winner with Justin Arnold adding an insurance goal for Tulsa – his second of the game.

Everest Bradford (29 saves) got the win over Moustakis (36 saves).
