Weekend Preview (1/22 - 1/24)
Dallas, Texas – The Dallas Snipers welcome the Tulsa Jr. Oilers to Dallas for this weekend’s 3 game series. This will be the final meeting between the two programs for the 2015 – 2016 regular season. The Snipers lead the season series 4 – 2. The Snipers are scoring 4.3 goals per game against Tulsa this season. This will be Tulsa’s first visit and only visit to Dallas this season.
The Snipers come into the series going 4-2-1-0 since the Las Vegas Showcase. The Snipers are led by Michael Tugo with 40 points. The Estonian forward has 18 goals and 22 assists in 34 games. Alex Moustakis has been the go to guy for Davis in the pipes. Moustakis carries a record of 11-7-1-0 with a save percentage of .899 and a 3.45 goals against average. “After attending training camp in the North American League, Moose has come back and simply just played hockey and he has given us a chance to win each game he has played in this season,” stated Coach Jaskiewicz.
The Oilers made some changes to their roster before the Las Vegas shootout. They added former Mid-West Division goalie, Philip Babb. Babb was dealt to Butte last season from Springfield. They also added Bogdan Shleev, who was the Cobra’s top forwards this season. Coach Marty Magers also brought back top forward from last season, Ivan Bukshevannyy. The Oliers have more offensive power than they did when they started the season. It should be an interesting matchup as this could possibly be the last time some of these 95’s will be playing against one another.
These two teams played 8 days ago in Tulsa; the Oilers are one point ahead of the Snipers for 4th place in the Mid-West Division. The Oliers have played three more games than the Snipers. It will be incredibly important for the Snipers to take advantage of these three games; it could make the difference going into the playoffs.
