The Wizard Returns

The Dallas Snipers of the Western States Hockey League are proud to announce the resigning of All Star Defensemen Daniel Nordlander. Last season, Nordlander anchored the back end for Davis and company. The Swedish defensemen will arrive in Dallas in early September and join the squad for training camp starting on September 6, 2016.

Nordlander helped quarter back the first power play unit for Davis. He was also on the penalty kill. “Daniel is a player we can put in all situations. He played 2 different stints in the Swedish SuperElit League which is Sweden’s top junior league in the 2 previous seasons before coming to us. He competed at the highest level of hockey in Sweden, we are expecting him to be a huge part of our success this season,” stated Coach Davis.

Last season, Nordlander was 1 of 3 players to represent the Mid-West Division at the All Star Game. “Daniel really played well during the first half of the season, he earned himself a spot to be in Oklahoma City at the All Star Game. He took much larger of a roll after we lost Viktor Svensson after Vegas. He played really well for us, and well enough to earn a call up to the NAHL. Due to an unfortunate injury Daniel was not able to take the call up. He had 16 goals and added 13 assists for 29 points in 46 games. His skating ability helps him create space, and also helps him defend very well in our zone which is very important to us,” stated Coach Jaskiewicz.

Daniel will join Andres Kato, Brady Weiss, and Nicolas Lasne and the rest of the team for training camp on September 6, 2016 at the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Plano. The Snipers season opener begins on September 30, 2016 in Vail, Colorado. Stay tuned for more information.
