Springfield Stops in Dallas
Dallas has been playing well of late, but still fell to Wichita in a three-game sweep at the hands of the Jr. Thunder.
Newcomer Jaroslav Vasicek, recently traded from OKC, scored his first point as a Sniper with his assist on Alexander Yunanov’s goal to open the scoring on Sunday. Dallas found themselves with the 2-1 lead in the second period before Wichita scored five unanswered to finish the game with the 6-2 win.
While they have 17 losses on the year, the Snipers have only been shut out three times this season and have found themselves within inches of victory late in many games, but the third period seems to be their downfall. They have been outscored 25-9 in the third frame in their last 10 games.
Dallas has a full schedule in the coming weeks leading up to the Las Vegas Shootout, with tilts against Mid-Western Division rivals Springfield and Tulsa.
Dallas plays within their division the rest of the way, so there’s still plenty of time for them to play Giant Killer in the coming months and maybe ruin the seasons of a rival or two.
