Snipers Trade for Czech Forward

The Dallas Snipers have traded for Czech forward, Jaroslav Vasicek from the Oklahoma City Blazers. He has been traded for future considerations. The future considerations are to be used by the trade deadline this season. Vasicek will return to Oklahoma City following the conclusion of the season 2016 – 2017 season. Vasicek requested the trade, as he was seeking to play more.

Vasicek is a young skilled forward who was in his second season with the Blazers. Last season, the Blazers lost to the Colorado Jr. Eagles in OT. That sent the Jr. Eagles to the Thorne Cup Final. Vasicek played in 19 games and had 3 goals and 1 assist. He got lots of experience with a talented Oklahoma City club. The soon to be 17-year-old will be looked upon to help produce offensively for a struggling snipers offense.

Coach Aaron Davis is looking to shake things up with a struggling club. “We need some help offensively and Vasicek will provide that for us the rest of the season. In 11 games, he has scored 8 points. All of them have come against us. So, it is nice to have him on our side the rest of this season,” stated Head Coach Aaron Davis. Vasicek has 8 points in 6 games vs Dallas this season.

Vasicek will wear number 55 this weekend and will be in the lineup for the club this weekend in Wichita as they take on the Thunder. “This is great for his development. He will play in key situations for our group and that will help grow his game. He has some good skill, and he works hard which is great to see in a young player,” Coach Jaskiewicz stated. Andres Kato will return to the lineup after being out since the second game of the season in Vail. “Huge upgrade on the backend, should really help Daniel Nordlander do well offensively this season,” stated Davis.
