Dallas snipes 31 goals in three-game sweep of Jr. Thunder

The Dallas Snipers moved into the thick of the Mid-West Division standings by taking all six points in their three-game series against the visiting Wichita Jr. Thunder.

Four different Dallas players scored a pair of goals each in a 13-2 Snipers win on Friday.  Trevor Borlace (2-2-4), Marom Avraham (2-1-3), Eric Eaton (2-1-3) and Karsten Portell all dented the twine twice in the contest.

Manny Legace (14 saves) was the winning goaltender for Dallas while Wichita’s Connor Green made 52 saves – 21 of them in the second period.

David Zarycki and Braeden Thomas scored for the Jr. Thunder.

The Snipers scored seven times in the first period to put Saturday’s game out of each early.  Alex Hladonik (3-2-5), Sterling Cooper (2-4-6) and Michal Pistek (1-3-4) led Dallas to a 10-2 win.

Evan Williams stopped 26 of 28 shots for Dallas while Austin Tilton made 41 stops for Wichita.

Tyler Alverson and Jordan Altenburg scored the goals for the Jr. Thunder.

The result of Sunday’s game was not in doubt after Dallas scored five unanswered goals in a span of 6:25 in the first period.  Avraham and Cooper each scored twice for the Snipers as they cruised to an 8-1 win.  Eaton assisted on three goals and Rafael Goncalves allowed just one goal on 20 shots.

John Tucker scored the lone goal for Wichita and Austin Tilton, who entered the game when Green was pulled during the first period onslaught, stopped 20 of 21 shots in the second period and finished the game with 41 saves.
