David Good and Oskar Gullstrom scored two goals apiece as the Jr. Thunder won Game 1, 5-1.
Spath surrendered the first goal of the game at 12:11 of the first period, but shut the door from that point forward, ending the game with 27 saves.
Alexander Moustakis made 34 saves and Sterling Cooper scored for the Snipers.
Spath posted a 24-save shutout and the Jr. Thunder completed the sweep with a 2-0 win on Saturday.
The game was scoreless for the first 30:20 as Spath and Moustakis (24 saves) matched each other save for save. Wichita’s Marc Zajic finally broke the ice with what proved to be the game-winning goal.
Jack McClelland assisted on Zajic’s goal and tallied an insurance goal of his own in in the third period to give Spath all the support he needed.
