Snipers Resign 2 Vets

The Dallas Snipers are proud to announce the resigning of two veteran players.  Sterling Cooper and Price Dworin will be returning to the Snipers for this upcoming season. Last season was Sterling and Price’s first season playing juniors after both had played U16 AAA the year prior. After a good rookie campaign by both players they will be looked to for leadership in this upcoming season.

Last Season Sterling Cooper suited up in 28 games, with 2 goals, 2 assists totaling 4 points. He also only had 6 PIMS while being a top penalty killer for Coach Davis and their squad. When asked about Cooper this is what Assistant Coach Matthew Jaskiewicz had to say. “Last season was a roller coaster ride for Sterling; he went through a couple of injuries that limited his time. He had an outstanding end to our season and really came into his own; he found his grove in his game and took off.  He scored 2 huge goals to help us get home ice advantage in the playoffs last season. His speed was a big problem for lots of defenders last season. He came in clutch when the team needed him and proved he can play in key situations. I am looking forward to having Coop back, and helping him improve his game over the course of next season.”

Price came in last season and was another pleasant surprise for Coach Davis. “Last season there were certain games when Price, Sterling, and Jason were our best players. They just stuck to the game plan and made teams out work them. If you follow the systems, they will work and for them being younger it was great to see them have the success that they had against their opponents.” In 44 games, Price had 5 points, 2 goals and 3 assists. He only took 5 penalties all season long. Price helped on the back end a little bit as well last season, when the Snipers had some injuries. Coach Jaskiewicz had this to say about the second year forward. “Price has lots of skill, and a good shot, he is a good face off center ice man as well. He works really hard, he back checks and fore checks and like Sterling has tons of speed to burn I am glad to have them both back.”
