Snipers Ink Two

The Dallas Snipers of the Western States Tier II Hockey League are proud to announce the signings of Swedish Defensemen Nils Lager and Latvian Forward Aleksejs Ivasenko for the upcoming 2015 - 2016 season. This will be their first season in the United States. Last season Lager played Tier II in Sweden and Ivasenko played in the Second Latvian League.

Last season over in Sweden, Nils played for the Nacka HK at the J20 Elite level.  Over 25 games last year, Nils had 1 goal and 2 assist for 3 points and 14 PIMS.  Head Coach Aaron Davis has this to say about his new Swedish Defensemen. “Our program is very excited to have Nils become a part of the Sniper family. He is a great skating defenseman that moves the puck well. He is more of a defensive defenseman, but this season the goal is to make him more of a 2 way defensemen.”

Aleksejs Ivasenko played over in the Latvian Second League along with former Sniper Konstantin Lubobratets. Last season he played 26 games accumulating 2 goals, for 2 points and 2 PIMS. At 5’11, 170 pounds Ivasenko will be making the transition from defense to forward for the upcoming season. “He is a player that brings us depth on the front side and on the back side if we needed him too. I am looking forward to helping Aleksejs develop his skills over here this upcoming season.” Add Snipers Assistant Coach Matthew Jaskiewicz.

The Dallas Snipers will be starting training camp during September. Check back for more Snipers information all summer long. Welcome to Dallas Nils and Aleksejs!
