Snipers Ink Big Center Nick Fritz

The Dallas Snipers of the Western States Hockey League are proud to announce the signing of Forward, Nick Fritz. Last season, he played for the San Antonio Jr. Rampage U18 AA program of the DSTHL. The big center is looking forward to the change of colors as well as asserting himself as a top player for the organization.

A native Tomball, Texas he began playing hockey at the age of 7, after his family moved to San Antonio. He has spent his entire youth career (10 Seasons) with the Jr Rampage. A former teammate of his in San Antonio (Will Campbell) plays in the WSHL as well for the Colorado Jr Eagles. Nick was originally scouted at the TCHC Showcase last August in Dallas.

“I was recruiting for the Jr B club I was coaching in Canada last year and before I moved, and I attended the TCHC Showcase in Dallas. I saw Nick play in the showcase and was immediately interested in grabbing him for my club in Canada. He has great size, works hard and he wants to go to the dirty areas in the game and that isn’t something you see from every young player. Things ended up not working out, but we kept in contact once I returned to Dallas. We had Nick attend one of our home games while he was playing a series here in Dallas. Then had him come and skate with us during his spring break. We wanted to see how he could handle the junior atmosphere. After having him out for a few days you could tell he was the type of player we want to build our culture around. We are looking forward to what he will bring to our organization,” stated Assistant Coach Jaskiewicz.

Here is what Fritz had to say with about signing with Dallas. “The coaching staff truly cares about developing each player and helping them move to the next level. The coaching staff has invested in me, and I’ve never had a coach give me a shot, so that made me realize the opportunity I am getting and am excited to be playing for a staff that believes that as well”.

Nick will be wearing #79 for the Snipers this upcoming season. He will move to Dallas after graduation to begin training with the Snipers coaching staff. The 6’2, 210-pound Center is looking forward to joining the Snipers Organization for the 2018-2019 season. The Snipers will begin their 8th season of play during the 2018-2019 season.
