Snipers Head to Vail to Open Season

Tomorrow will be the 18th day Coach Aaron Davis has practiced with his new club. After that they will load up on a bus and track 16 hours to open their season in Vail, Colorado. They will take on the new expansion franchise Vail Powder Hounds. This will be the Snipers only out of division road trip this season.

Davis will look to his 2 Alternate Captains to lead the way as Captain Sterling Cooper is out injury he suffered in a preseason game. Alternate Captain Sasha Yunanov will be looking to make a couple of changes in the Snipers franchise record books this upcoming season as well. He has been a top guy for Davis the past 2 seasons, he will look for nothing but improvement from Yunanov. Snipers also brought back Defensemen Daniel Nordlander. Last season, he set the single season mark in franchise history for goals by a defenseman with 16. He was named to the All-Star team as well last season.

Alex Moustakis will return to finish out his final year of juniors with the club. Last Season Moustakis was Davis top players. “In the 3 years he has been here, I’ve only seen him not show up once and he took full responsibility for it. He comes in and competes every day at practice. He pushes his goalie partners to challenge each other, it makes for good healthy competitive battle. We are happy with our goaltending,” stated Davis.
