Snipers Add Svensson
The Dallas Snipers have announced the signing of Defenseman Viktor Svensson. During the 2014 – 2015 seasons Viktor played for Sandvikens IK in Sweden. The 6’1, right handed Defenseman will be spending his final year of junior eligibility in Dallas. This will be his first season of hockey in North America.
Last season with Sandvikens IK Svensson played in 23 games. He had one goal and two assist for three points. The year prior to last season, he played at the J20 Division 1 level and scored 4 goals and had 7 assists. He totaled 11 points in only 15 games during his first season of juniors.
“Going into this off season it was a top priority for us to get Defensemen. Last season we really struggled on the back end. Plan and simple we just had too many inconsistent nights. If you don’t play consistent you can be out of the playoff picture sooner rather than later, especially in our division. Bringing Viktor over to our team helps solidify an already solid group of Defensemen we have signed, stated Head Coach Aaron Davis.”
The Snipers open up October 2nd against the Springfield Express at the Dr. Pepper Star Center in Plano. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for Adults. Viktor becomes the third Swedish Defenseman the Snipers have signed this off season. Welcome Viktor to Dallas!
