Snipers Add Local Junior Vet

The Dallas Snipers of the Western States Hockey League are proud to announce the signing of Forward, Cullen Corr. Last season, he played for the Detroit Fighting Irish and Motor City Hawks in the USPHL Premier. The two-way winger is looking forward to being back in a Snipers uniform as well as asserting himself as a leader for the organization.

This is what Snipers Head Coach had to say about Corr. “Cullen is a hard work player we feel will fit in great with our group this fall. As a rookie, he was the player that went up stair to the shooting room and worked on getting better every day. He works every day on doing the little things right. I expect him to bring that type of leadership to our room this year and help guide our younger players.”

A Dallas, Texas native he played High School hockey in Dallas for Highland Park as well as played select hockey for DJHA, which has been a top select program around the metroplex for years. Corr laced them up for the Snipers during the 2015-2016 season. As a rookie Corr played in 31 games with the Snipers adding 2 assists and 8 penalty minutes. He would finish the season with the Tulsa Jr. Oilers.

“Cullen is an incredibly smart young man, he works hard in the classroom and works just as hard on the ice. He just like Nick Fritz are great locker room guys and that is something we really want to make sure we have in our locker room this season. Team chemistry and having the right people in your organization leading the proper way day in and day out is huge. We feel like Cullen and Nick fit that bill,” stated Assistant Coach Matthew Jaskiewicz.

Here is what Corr had to say with about signing with Dallas. “I chose to come back to Dallas because it’s absolutely a first class organization. I’ve always had tremendous respect for my coaches and teammates here. The organization places a real emphasis on hard work and character. In my experience this is something that really determines success. The skill level in the WSHL is very high. I believe that the WSHL is a very underrated as a league and continues to get better by drawing top players from around the world.  I am looking forward to coming in, working hard, and leading by example and continue to grow hockey as a hockey player”.

Corr will be wearing #7 for the Snipers this upcoming season. Cullen has begun his off-season training with Snipers coaching staff in Dallas. The 6’0, 185 -pound winger is looking forward to re-joining the Snipers Organization again for the 2018-2019 season. Corr becomes the second off season signing along side Nick Fritz.  The Snipers will begin their 8th season of play during the 2018-2019 season.
