Richardson Signs with McKendree
(LEBANON, Ill., Mar. 30) – McKendree University D1 men's hockey coach Garry Henson has announced the first signee for the upcoming 2020-21 season in forward Brad Richardson.
"Brad is an outstanding young man. He will bring experience, leadership, speed, size, and a ton of skill to the center position," said Henson.
Richardson, an Ottawa, Ontario, Canada native, comes to McKendree from the Dallas Snipers of the Western States Hockey League (WSHL). During the 2019-20 season, Richardson racked up 29 goals, 31 assists, and 60 points in 46 games while serving as alternate captain for the Snipers.
"It's super exciting, the thought of playing for a college team is something I've thought about and I am glad it is finally happening. I really hope that I can come in next year, work hard and make an immediate impact and help this team win some games. I cannot wait to get down there and get this started," said Richardson on joining McKendree.
The Bearcats saw major success during the 2019-20 season, their first as an American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division-I team. McKendree finished with a 20-5-1 record and 16-3-1 mark in Midwest College Hockey (MCH) play, ultimately taking the MCH regular season and tournament championships.
