DALLAS SNIPERS (2-2-2, 6 pts)

The Dallas Snipers picked up two points in a hard-fought battle with Mid-West Division rivals Tulsa. After dropping the first game 6-2, Dallas found themselves in some goaltending battles against the Jr. Oilers, losing in OT on Saturday and double-OT on Sunday.

The goaltending duties for the Snipers has been distributed among their three backstops, with Brady Weiss taking the loss on Friday after a 41 save effort.  Alex Moustakis stopped 31 shots in the overtime loss Saturday, while Matt Stewart put together a gutsy 41 saves in the double OT loss on Sunday.

Slovakian forward Peter Kutlak popped in a 2-3-5 line over the weekend including three points on Sunday to build on his team leading 11 points after Dallas’ first six games.

The line of Kutlak, Alexander Yunanov, and Sterling Cooper led the team with the Snipers’ only goals on Friday, but the rest of the weekend saw four different Dallas players get points in their tight tilts.

This weekend, Dallas hosts the undefeated Oklahoma City Blazers in what is sure to be an important test for the Snipers.  And with the Mid-West Division looking as close as ever, those early season points may be the difference in the long run.
