Jr. Thunder Preview
DALLAS SNIPERS (2-8-2, 6 pts)
The Dallas Snipers are seeing their standing in the Midwest Division slipping away as they dropped three straight to El Paso, bringing their current losing streak to nine games.
Dallas veteran Peter Kutlak’s unassisted goal at 5:30 of the second period on Friday accounted for the Snipers’ lone goal on the weekend as they were outscored 26-1.
Last week, we talked about Kutlak and Alexander Yunanov’s pursuit of the franchise’s all-time records in certain categories – and they are close in points, assists, and games played – but their weekend against Dallas didn’t get them much closer.
This weekend’s series against Wichita – which sits just above Dallas in the standings – may be just the cure the Snipers need for what ails them. If they can squeeze some points out of the Thunder, then Dallas may find themselves back into the thick of things.
It’s a long season and the Snipers don’t want to dig themselves too deep too soon.
